What do you guys think of the Alpine cd9827 headunit? Im going to be running (maybe) that headunit with Infinity reference speakers now, and eventually 2 10 inch Infinity Perfects. Im going for a crisp, clean sound that can be loud and not get distorted. What are your experiences with this headunit and do you think it would be right for what i want to do with my system?

Trust me when I say this, but the reference Infinities are okay to use as a stock upgrade, but you also said lean sound that can get loud and not distorted. Don't get the reference ones then. If you want super clean, super loud sound from the front, you need to spend more than $69.00, or $139. for the seperates. I used to sell the reference series to folks who just wanted a replacement speaker. I let them listen to those and then the kappas, and then a few other brands (nameless), and to people who wanted that crisp clean sound, the references weren't it. C'mon pick another kind. The perfects are great subs but you'll need some power to make sound great.

yea im going to eventually upgrade, but the reference series are already in my car so im just gonna keep them for a while. what do you guys think about this headunit?

You had it at Alpine. I've had about ten of there headunits the past three year, ran Eclipse before that. Good change to Alpine. I currently have the 9830 in my 91 Talon. It has so many features I haven't even tried to figure them all out yet, and I've had it for three months now. It's a good deck.
