St. Thomas,
how hard is it to remove the shifter boot and what is involed?
my stock leather one has a little hole in it and i was thinking of making a custom one out of black suede.
thanks.

i did it the other day dude its not hard as all, just take that little middle piece off thats covering the two screws holding the center console down, unscrew the two srews, pull the center console off, and just pull kinda hard on the boot where it connects to the shifter itself, it will slide off, and theres only a couple plastic parts holding the boot to the center consoler piece, its not hard.

ummm....save yourself some time, dont take the center console out, just pull up on the sides of the boot, there are 4 places(corners) that it is snapped into or whatever, and it just comes right out....and make sure to unscrew your shift knob, and then you can just pull it up....at least i can do that on mine, i dont have to take the entire console out...

If you take out the center concole don't pull up on it to get under the shift boot, otherwise you will pull out wiring from your 12v(cigarette lighter) and you don't want to pull the wiring out of the plastic pieces because that will just give you something else to fix. Before you take the center concole out though take off the shift knob and then after you unplug all the 12v wiring you can lift it up and look under it, pull the boot through the shifter and you will see 4 screws holding the bolt in place, unscrew them and bam your shift boot is off.

ok thanks for the help...
i'll be sure to take some before and after pictures

If anyones interested I make custom colored or carbon fiber vinyl shift boots for 2g, I could easily make them for 1g if someone wants to sacrifice theres. I can also cover your center console in this material

That color changing fabric is cool, props on that man, hey maybe we should do business together

ill sell ya my steel templets i made up :D
i got a set for 2g and 1g boots. basicly all ya got to do
is put the templete on the fabric and cut around it with a razor blade to make the patterns.
I used to sell them for $20 but too many other people started making them.

man, i have been looking for a custom shift boot with a dragon on it, preferably black material with a grey dragon to match the rest of my interrior... I SO would buy pretty much any really nice custom shift boot for a 1g, they are so hard to find, any that aren't REAL LEATHER, i hate real leather because you have to take care of it, I'm too busy taken care of the outside to always take care of the inside.

about 25 to 35 bucks for it because i am kinda low on cash (trying to save up for an invader body kit)
