Nice work, the only problem I see with that though is the fact that when you look at a laptop screen at a angle, it gets fuzzy, dark and blurry. Does it pop out of the dash so you can see it straight?

Depends on whether or not it's an Active Matrix screen, if it is you can see it from any angle and it's clear as day.

Did not know this. I am still stuck in the dinosaur ages when it comes to lap tops. Thanks for the info though.:thumb:

Airpoppoff: no cost to me other than the price of the laptop, its still new and is only hooked up to the laptop ( witch dont have a dvd drive or video inputs ) its all but useless during the day, but at night i can see it from the drivers seat.

larryd: i could if i got a data cable for my cell phone :)

Dsmed: no its stationary, i may yank it back out and work some hinges in.

the laptop itself is pretty old, ( 133 mhz, 2.1 gig hard drive, 6x cd rom)runnning win95 (no use support) so i am a little limited to what i can do. right now, i use it for navigation w/ gps , datalogging and im planning on puting mp3's on it

That is really serious I saw it on your web page. I also liked the custom install u did in the ac vents.

How did you extend the cable for the lcd to get it that far away from the laptop itself? I am thinking about doing something like this in my car, but I can't find any information about moving the lcd away from the computer.

Alex718: thanks

kyle: thanks, ya there is no hiding it

YakMan: its pretty monotonous, there is around 60 connections total. you just cut the wires and start extending. ( i used a ribbon cable ) the weird part was- the ribbon needed extra shielding (wrapped it in electrical tape) or it wouldnt work.

did u remove your air bag son or is somone getting decapitated in your car? by the lcd screen?
(at 200mph)

btw looks good just wondered on the air bag question

ya- all of the srs system is long gone. i made it useless when i put an after market steering wheel in, it would have no longer worked anyways.
