Hello,

I bought clear turn lenses for my car. Now the stock headlights look all hazy and yellow. I am looking for any suggestions/options on cleaning them up.

I read in Super Street to use acetone, DON"T DO IT, it will make them even worse. THE BEST way to fix your yellow headlight is to use a buffer and buff it out. It made my headlights look brand new and I highly reccomend it.

Any other products work??? My car is 1992 and has a couple more years of oxidation or whatever on my headlights. If anything else is better let me know!!!!!!!!!

I used Mother's Polishing Compund and it did an amazing job if getting rid of the yellow on my lights. I had one that was really bad and when I was done, the rag was yellow, but the headlight looked like new. I used Mother's plastic polish after that to try and prevent it from happening again. So far, it's worked out great.

Mine were the same way and i used my moms cleaner she got from the dollar store:laugh: it is in a white spray bottle and it has two eyes on it that look like this:mad: believe it or not it took the yellow right away it will take the rust off of wheels its powerful.

I appreciate the help. I gotta get rid of the yellow on the headlights. The car looks too good, plus I put in Eurolite bulbs (hiper White not blue). They look pretty good at night and actually do put light on the road. I know this yellow haze is messing with some of the super whitish look they project. I was told by dealer that new headlights cost $325.00 a piece and I was no way!!!!!! Thanks again.

I agree with everyone...Mothers Aluminum Polish works wonders!

You can always wet sand it working your way through the different grits ( worked for me before)...but now, what i do is:

1. Scrub it down with a red compound ( like from Turtlewax)
2. Buff it up with a white compound ( i use Turtlewax)
3. Then i do some Mother's Polishing Compound
4. Finally, i wipe some Meguir's clear plastic polish on it to give it a nice shine

Hope that helps some

i didn't have to clean the inside... just buffed the outside with nailpolish remover and a clean rag.... the inside can probably be cleaned by prying the plastic lens off... you'd have to get the little metal clamps off and then find a way to get the lens itself off, it's attached with a sealant....
