I purchased a din to rca adaptor from www.installer.com in order to utilize the factory in-car amp and also get feedback from the factory front tweeters, but I can't figure out what im doing wrong when i hook it up... Here's the unit (top of the page) http://www.installer.com/acc/index.html
Here's the logic i have used, if anyone has done this before, let me know what im doing wrong...
First off, i figure that all eclipses came wired for an amp and for no amp. the ones without an amp(GS, RS, i assume) obviously only require 4 speaker hook ups (the ones that plug into the back of the wiring harness), the cars with factory (GST, GSX) amps require the use of 6 speaker hook ups.. These wires plug into the factory amp on a wiring harness.. Unfortunately the amp has a din connector, so this is why i bought the adaptor to convert to RCA. The adaptor has a a din connector AND a blue wire on one end, and a front and rear output (not labeled which is which). I have no clue what the blue wire is, i assume it's remote, but not positive, and im not sure which is rear and which is front. I have tried connecting them both ways and i have tried hooking the blue wire to the remote also. None of this worked. This product came with no instructions and the packaging says it was made by "Peripheral Interface Components". Also, I'm assuming having both the wires for the speakers which plug into the back of the cd player (wiring harness) and speaker wires that plug into the factory amp, plugged in at the same time could fry the amp... For a time, they were both hooked up, so maybe thats whats wrong..
Hopefully I can get some help on this, The only other thing i can think to do is bypass the amp all together and put in new component speakers... What have you guys done?
