Saw the wierdest taillight mod

I'm not a ricer by any means, but I saw the wierdest thing today. There was a silver 2g with altezzas :thumbdown but when he hit his turn signal the taillight would flash once closest to the center of the trunk, then like 3" outward, and then again another 3" outward. So it would light up 3 times and each time light up at a different spot in the taillight .. moving farther away from the center of the car. I know it's ricey as hell .. but I'm just curious how someone would make it do that? It would be kinda cool to set up the hazards so they flash like that really fast or something

It's just sequential taillights, you can buy relay adapter kits for mustangs, I'm sure you could make it work on a 2g.
And since that feature started on old cougars and mustangs, it's about as anti-rice as you can get.

this is kinda off topic, but would it be possible to take altezzas, take out the red lenses, and put in clear, amber, red, kinda like a supra tailight style setup but still inside the eclipse shaped taillight housing?... kinda like in NFS:U yea its a video game, but that did get me wondering.. you could shave the reverse lighs then too

My friends could whip up a sequential tail-light pattern like that for me if I wanted but I don't know. I'm trying to think of something unique but I guess similar to that. Reminds me of how the turn signals on a 67 Mercury Cougar light up.

my questions is does it have to be used with altezzas? can it be used with regular lenses? dont think ill ever get something like that, but im curious.

a bulb is a bulb, so yes. It would work on any car that has 3 bulbs per side
That being said you'd need to have eclipse style tails (altezza or not) for it to work/look properly, as Talons have one bulb (turn) above the other 2

If you can find lenses that will fit inside the altezza for whatever color u want it is possible. The hardest thing is one opening the lights to replace the lenses and 2, finding lenses that will fit. The easiest way i know of to open the lenses is to take the tail lights and put them in a conventinal oven and bake them at like 250-350 degrees for about 10-15 min, but be careful not to burn them of course. That will loosten up the adhesive glue that holds the outer clear lens on. that will give u access to the smaller red lenses, as for getting them off...... well that u have to find out on ur own, i never tried to take them out, i instead started to remove just the outer clear lens to have just the silver back with red circles, no outer lens. but had probs didnt work some the glue hardend again cracked broke the lens.

don't know if it's exactly what you want, but i purchased bulbs off of ebay that caused a rappid flash between bulbs one and two in the housing. Basically, if you look at one of the lights, it flashed center, then outside, center, then outside.

All it is is a single fillament bulb. When the lights are on, it's lighting the entire chamber by itself. Which is brighter towards the center (Depending on placement). Then when the blinker is turned on, the other bulb with a second fillament lights up and is brighter, and the other single fillament bulb turns off. This creates that flash effect. Plus, the car thinks a bulb is burnt out, so it flashed rapidly. It isn't as sequencial as the linked videos, but actually looks OK - especially in stock housings.
