a buddy of mine is selling his 12.8 sec turbo 7 bolt motor from his 93 talon for $350.00, its clean, and it has perfect compression... should i buy it or grab a 6 bolt... im pretty sure the engine is all i need to run 13-14 sec with a 16G, but im worried i might get the speed bug and wanna go faster requiring a 6 bolt...

he also has a set of ARP head studs for a 7 bolt.. would this be a good idea for under 20 lbs with a 14B ?

thanks, and forgive my newbieness... :dsm:

well i grabbed it today... it has perfect cylinder walls with very little carbon on the pistons... not too bad for a 99k engine... a new oil pump and water pump were thrown in as well as a mitsu head gasket...

That post is like the bible although I've heard that the turbo ECU is overkill since all it adds is a knock sensor..??

I was htinking instead of adding all the factory stuff to tune it, just add an SAFC to tune the A/F mixture...

it also gives you the proper base fuel maps and allows you to use the bigger 1g turbo mas.

nt is on the right, turbo on the left.

heh on my way home last night i saw a DSM in the back of a used car lot...

i got out and checked it out... sure nuff, '89 Laser RS turbo, but with a bunch of missing parts...

anyways, i ended up trading my $200.00 sub amp and some 16in GS wheels for it straight across, so they deleivered it to my house.. now i have my ECU, injectors, piping, IC, 6bolt 4g63 (no compression) etc.... LOL...what the hell am i gonna do with all this DSM stuff now!!

plus i have a turbo car....:thumb:

well ive been looking over the parts car... im thinking it may actually be easier to just build it up an put all my parts on it... its never been wrecked and only needs a couple fenders and windshield..
