1.8 -> 2.0 (same motor)

Okay, I read this in the 1000 top DSM questions, but what would be needed to take my 1g 1.8 SOHC motor and convert it to a 2.0 DOHC motor? Also would it be possible to add a turbo to this motor? (Of course with the appropriate manifold etc.)

Any input is appreciated, I love my DSM right now and have put a lot of heart into it becoming a DSM enthusiast, and I hate to see it go just so I can have an already stock turbo car.

you can't just convert a 1.8 to a 2.0. the block, head, manifolds, hell even the electronics are all totally different.

for all the trouble you'd have to go through in order to get a 2.0 dohc into your car you could just bolt in a 2.0 turbo motor for a little more money.

or you could just sell the car and get a stock turbo'd car.

Hrm guess I read wrong. I've been shopping around for a 2.0 GST motor because I want to turn my GS into a little project. So I guess I'll keep looking for my GST motor.

Hey man what's up, right now im converting my 94 1.8 into a 2.0 turbo, you can turbo the 1.8's but it isnt worth it, itd be alot of trouble and it wouldnt be able to take a beating like the 2.0, if your gonna swap out id suggest getting a whole car cuz everything changes from an engine mount to the gauge cluster, im doing it right now and im getting the engine back with a mild rebuild so i can run high boost without having to worry...nothing beats having a sleeper
