star stage 1 plus intercooler

alright i have a question....... i wanna get the star stage 1 kit and buy a used intercooler off e-bay. is the only difference between the stage 1 and stage 2 the intercooler? if so, can i run 9-10 psi on stock internals w/ an intercooler and get 280ish horsepower like the stage 2 kit says?
does it depend on the intercooler?

Anyways yes it does matter i would not recomend 9 or 10 psi on stock internals . there are so many variables theres no telling what youll get off Ebay and remember you get what you pay for. If you buy some cheesy homemade intercooler and you try to run 10 psi first it better hold 10 psi at least or you got robbed. there should be no drop of psi through the intercooler . but there should be a significant drop in air temp from the in side of the intercooler prob. 230* F on the out should be around 110* F going back into the intake. also you have to think about the core of the intercooler blocking air flow from the radiator, could cause your puny stck radiator to overheat the engine. theres no fu<king aroung when it come to Turbo... i know that ApexInc. makes an intercooler with its fins spread apart to allow air to accually make it to your radiator.

sorry abuot postin it 5 times, the internet. i ididn't plan on running to 9-10 psi but that is what star says it can... iplan on running 8 any idea what the hp is at 8psi? im pretty sure i can find something alright on e-bay... how good are the stock gst intercoolers?
don't stock gst run 8psi?... and im not buying a cheesy homemade intercooler it will be a used one from either a gst or another turbo car if it would fit j/ whatever
some of them say they are pressure tested....
so my questions are
is the intercooler the only difference between the star stage 1 and stage 2....?
if im not rebuilding the bottom end all im gonna push is 8psi so i would only need an intercooler that would do that much right? ( i plan on getting one that can do more but j/checkin on that)

I don't know if the star Stage 1 kit includes the upgraded fuel pump & fuel pressure regulator. It might but again I'm not sure I just bought stage 2 and called it good. There are other differences I'm sure, the piping is way different to the TB so you would need all of that as well. I would say you're almost better off getting the stage 2 kit and being guaranteed to have all the pieces you need to safely run 8psi
