Hey guys,

I guess I really didn't post when I was going to put my turbo parts on the new talon, but I did about 2 weeks ago and decided to post some pics for everyone. DSMCrazy3 flew up here to stay with me for a few days and he helped out, but eventually became sick. If he hadn't, we would have put it all on in about 5 hours (with a couple breaks in there), but it took a little longer since I had to finish by myself. Well anywho, here are the pics. And yes I know I need a new air filter, it's on my to-do list haha.

Nice! That's a pretty clean install. That engine bay is pretty clean too!

But, uh, holy hell! What happened to your bumper? Did I miss something in another thread?

Looks like that intercooler almost didnt fit under the bumper. Real close with the pipes there.

Looks good.

Won't be eating his cooking again, eh? :)

My dad's cooking actually LOL, sorry Josh.

Yeah apparently a talon bumper has less clearance than an eclipse one. The intercooler has about a 1/2" gap between it and the power steering cooler line and that's where it was about on my eclipse too. This one is just more curvy around where the piping needs to go and I had to cut it around it to make it fit without squishing or poking the couplers. I plan on going with a 2gb front end sometime so it doesn't bother me.

Haha... no, the bumper looks fine. I first saw this thread on my old computer at home: it makes all pictures and graphics look really dark for some reason. The license plate looked like a huge hole at first.

But the picture is much clearer here at work. Looks good!

Another question though... why does everyone route their oil feed line the long way? That doesn't make sense to me...

It just looks long and clumsy. I was able to make my feed line out of one section of 24" 4-AN hose. Maybe it's just me; I just like lines and hoses as short and tidy as possible.

hehe that was the first thing I thought of too. I think I would have at least ran it under the radiator hose and down next to the timing belt cover

You need a filter like me...

PS Paul, my oil line is the short way :thumb:

No I haven't gotten the exhaust closed up yet. It's still open downpipe. I have an appointment set up for tuesday to have it finished. I want to get the wastegate routed into the exhaust as well, but probably won't have that done on tuesday. I'll ask him to see how much he thinks it will cost to do it on a different date.

Oil line doesn't bother me. It's not touching any belts or anything so thats all I cared about.

You know, I had that same dilemma when I was hooking up my feed line assembly. My reasoning was:

1) Better to have the feed line next to a cam cover, which blocks some heat radiated by the head for a neutral temperature.

2) Left (passenger) side is further away from the EGR plumbing, which as we all know, can get pretty hot.

3) Passenger side is also the most convenient area for routing due to the assembly I used. Once everything was tight, it faced directly torwards the passenger side. I didn't want the line banging a complete U'ey directly after leaving the high pressure block.

Either way, I'm sure it doesn't matter. :thumb:

I like to see you back in action buddy. Slowly but surely she is coming back together.

That air filter did get owned LOL, thats funny.

Yeah I had to bend part of it in to fit it with that upper pipe there haha.

I re-wired my pump the other day and the sound of the whine is significantly lower and my air/fuel gauge stays in the green at 8 psi so I just about have it all dialed in. The needle some times flickers really fast from 5-8 psi though when I try some pulls so I might have to get a bigger wastegate spring and/or better MBC. I'm on a 3 psi spring and an eBay MBC.

You might have a small boost leak and that would be the cheapest way out LOL.

Hey when you go to the exhaust shop, just ask to take a look at some of there mandrel bends. You can test fit them in the engine bay to pick out a perfect intake pipe, for that filter, to go around the intercooler piping.

Well I had a pipe for the intake for the filter to attach to, but I needed the coupler off of it to put my new BOV on. So off came the pipe for it. It's ok though, it still looks nice ha.

Got my exhaust hooked up to the downpipe, it's too quiet now :( And the BOV is too loud for my tastes :( :(
