ok i have tail type 35mm wastegate and have a few questions.

1. is it supposed to have exhaust gases comming out at idle?

2. there are two vaccum holes one on top and the other on the bottom. is the top one for a boost controller and the bottom for a vaccum sorce before the tb.

thanks

1) No, exhaust should only come out when the car is under full boost.

2) No, if you are running a mbc just run the line from the controller to the bottom nipple and leave the top one open to the air. If you are running an electronic controller you can use both nipples.

then connect the vacuum hose to the side/bottom nipple. Leave the top hole open to the atmosphere. It's called a Tial 35mm wastegate. It's not a Greddy, there's no "TYPE" in the name. If you have exhaust gases coming out at idle, you didn't install the valve ring. That ring will seal up against the diaphragm once you tighten it down to the flange.

thanks i got the it ran unintercooled now till i can get ic pipes made and i put a tap in the charge pipe for the wastegate. i know it is not a greddy but it is not a tial either. thats why i said type.

so i put the ring in and it sealed right but when i drive and start building pressure the wastegate dumps it all out and it feels like i hit a wall or something. what can i do to fix this?

Then what kind is it??

The wastegate will open up when the amt. of boost reaches the spring rating in the gate. Look at your boost gauge and see how much boost you are making when the gate opens and keeps boost at a constant level. The wastegate does not dump all your pressure out. Not sure if you are wording it right. Also, describe this "hitting a wall" effect a little better. When does it happen, what does the car do? I wonder if a N/T car has fuel cut built in as well?

i was running a stage one setup and a 5 psi spring with no bov and the car was not running right. as i type this i am having my bov flange and vaccum tap for the wastegate welded into the pipe.
