Driver side axle seal leak

SO again I find another issue with my DD. I noticed spots of fluid under my car and it seems that my axle seal is leaking and trickles down to the bell housing where it drips onto the ground. So before I lose any more gear oil I thought I'd try and replace the seal. I've never done transmission-related fixes and I have a few questions.

For one, I'm asking if somebody can quickly post the steps to replacing the seal, or point me in the direction to a guide/write up already on the forums.

-What should I watch out for? I've read that you have to be careful with the metal around the outside of the seal when removing it.

-Also read that some stores have the wrong part numbers? How true are these, and I'm guessing NAPA is the best choice to go to.

-What gear oil should I use.

I appreciate ANY help I can get the this noobish question. I heard some people's issues get worse after they replace the seal and I definitely don't need that right now.

New Venture Gear, the manufacturers of the NV-T350 only recommend either the Mopar NV-T350 specific fluid or Chrysler ATF+4. If you use anything else, the results aren't guaranteed to be good, but to each their own. The seal is about $13.XX at the dealer.

OEM # 04797334 Dodge dealer.
# M04797334 Mits. Dealer.

To ensure any doubt of anything.

As for replacing the an "Axle Seal", it is simple & straight foward. Get to the C/V shaft, remove it, I use small needle nose pliers to remove/knock out the seal & replace with new one. I use a rubber hammer/wooden block to push the seal even against the slot. Put everything back together as you tore it down.
