hey guys,
ive recently taken my transaxle out and put in another from a salvage yard. the car it came out of was an eclipse that had just over 100,XXX miles on it. anyways, i know im a bit low on fluid, like, maybe a whole quart. shifting to first and second is great. but shifting to 3rd and 4th there is a small grind....going into 5th with no problems. could being short on fluid cause this>? ive also got to adjust the clutch pedal as well. so maybe thatd help too? any advice would be great. and by the way, i did search a bit and found a few grinding issues like mine, but different gears....and none of those mentioned anything about low fluid. thanx in advance!

update:
just added fluid and tried the 'proper clutch adjustment' tutorial off of youtube. it was definitely low on fluid. but adjusting the pedal....i couldnt get my slave to push in at all with my thumb. turn by turn i tried. all the way in and all the way out. its like i couldnt find the bleeding point. i went ahead and adjusted the locking nut and the bracket that goes to the pedal as far out as i could without it falling off, locked the locking nut and it still grinds going into third and fourth. i must be doing something wrong, right? maybe the syncros for third and fourth are about shot? now, i did have the master out of the car with all the lines still hooked up while attempting the adjustment procedure. i had it set up like jack in his video. so, im right back where i was. any ideas? thank you
