I had a noise while the clutch was engaged that sounded like something was bouncing around in my bell housing. I posted on here and the majority of responses were that it was a bad TOB. I finally got my tranny pulled last night, and upon inspection the TOB looks like its in good shape. No play when I shake it and it moves freely. However one of the plastic tabs that holds the TOB to the fork is broken.

When I stick my finger into the input shaft hole (I think thats what its called) on the clutch and shake it around it has play. I dont know if this is normal. Also when i shake the input shaft on the transmission it has a little play also.

I dont know what is normal but I really want to figure out why my car is making so much noise. The transmission fluid has been changed regularly with the suggested fluid. When I drained it, it looked brand new. No metal shaving or anything.

What could it be?

Oh and the TOB is the one that came with the LUK clutch.

I can see the TOB making the noise since one of those tabs are broken. Aren't there only 2 to begin with?

And you're saying the clutch itself is loose? Because that's not right neither. Everything on there should be solid as far as I remember.

On the TOB where the red circle is, one of those is gone. And the spline thing by the blueish arrow wiggles around. Is the input shaft on the transmission supposed to move around a little bit?

This is a picture off Google. Not my clutch, but close.

The input shaft on the trans should have some play in it.

The TOB could be making the noise since it's not being held on the fork properly. Granted the fork just applies pressure to the TOB, but if it's not locked properly on the fork, just seems like it'll make noise.

Don't remember on the old clutch if there was play on that, but I don't think there was. If that part is loose, the whole clutch assembly will move as well. Not good.
