Question Tranny advice...

I'm only have trouble with my bottom gears, 2nd-4th-Reverse. In order to go into reverse I gotta shut the car off and pop it in. Sometimes if I'm lucky it'll workwhile running. As for the 2nd and 4th gear, I sometimes have a lil bit of a hard time poppin it. Not too familiar with trannies so i have no idea! Its a bit odd ### lik I said, its only my bottom gears that give me trouble and headaches. Let me know if anything that would help me out. thanxs...

sounds more like a cable problem than a trans problem.

Ok, def not familiar with trannies so I have no idea where to locate the horse clips or even where to find the cables too lol. The other night I took apart my center console just to see if anything looked outter placed or damaged but everything was good to go and positioned correctly. See if ya can walk me thru it.... thanxs

see post number 2 in this thread, post number 5 in the link it takes you too.

Man I remember when one of those cotter pins got loose and fell off on me. I was getting on the freeway with a long on ramp, so I'm boosting it hardcore. I"m hitting 95-100mph when I here clink clink....I'm like OH S&^T, so I brake like was going to do anyways at that speed, but when I got to drop it into fourth at about 60mph again, It was no where to be found.....when I got off the free way neither was second or reverse.

I got lucky and found another cotter pin on a blown 420a tranny my friend had at his shop....I hope you didn't lose yours.
