I posted this in the general forum and got no responses, maybes someone in here knows. A guy at work has a 1g turbo head he's trying to get me to buy for my 1g n/t. He says it'll bolt right up, and that i'll get some small performance gains from the hotter cam and stuff. is this true, will this head bolt up to my n/t block?

As far as i know the heads are the same. However the cams are different between the turbo and non turbo, turbo cams will give you a performance gain, i don't think the head will though. sombody correct me if i'm wrong.

grinder5 i think your right. ralli///art gs how much are you getting the head for cause the price you pay for the head you could get new turbo cams and get the more hp than you would if you got the stock head and stock turbo cams. ;)

He hasn't told me how much he wanted for the head, but he has no use for it so maybe i'd get it cheap. I was mainly looking for a head to modify, get a port and polish, make sure the valve guides are new, then just swap em out, save on down time for my car to pull the head, have a port and polish done, install new cams and put the head back in. I'm basically trading time for money. I'll spend the money to save on time.

the head will bolt right up to your NT...exact same head except for the cams, as has been previously mentioned. Kind of a good idea u got there too, to get that head, have it P&P, and then installed.

Base head is identical.

Cams. Does anyone think maybe the N/T cams are optimized for performance on a N/T. If the case was true that there was more performance with the Turbo cams, Mitsubishi would have commonized that component to save money.

Anyone have dyno runs before and after?
