i just started modifying my 96 talon esi. so far i started out with a cat back and a high flow catty, air intake and a o.s. throttle body 55mm
Only really one thing has bothered me about my car. its the fact that the clutch seems way to week to handle more hp. i know the factory clutch can probally handle more than what im pushing but im on a quest to find a nice aftermarket one. i want a little more stiffness to my pedal and a nice grip if any body has any info i would much appreciate it. also does anybody have a ecu upgrade from jet chip??? if so is it worth it?

Jet doesn't work on our cars. Nobody has showed any gains so I hear.

yeah, i have to agree with him^^^^^^^. As far as a performance clutch, I have found that the clutch that seems worthwhile for our cars (according to some sources), the clutchmasters stage 4, has quite a soft pedal, softer than stock in fact. It also acts like an on/off switch and is hard to modulate, but it will hold almost any amount of power that you can throw at it.

You will be alright with your stocker ( depending on mileage ) for a while. I ran my stock clucth at 75,000 miles with no slippage even after I turboed my car. At that point it was only a matter of time before it did tho.

1tuffRS is right about the Clutchmasters stage 4. Thats what I run on my car with a lightened flywheel and it does have a softer than stock feel. On the downside it is hard to drive smoothly because when it engages it engages. Stop and go traffic can be a biatch sometimes. I would say go with the stage 2 from CM.
