I just picked up a 1995 Eclipse RS 5 speed and I'm just amazed at how well this car does. I wouldn't consider my comutes to be either city or highway driving but kind of in the middle. Anyway I have maybe gone through 5 tanks of gas in this car since I have owned it and not one tank has been under 400 miles. My best tanks which I have hit twice has been 440 which is giving me about 31 MPG average on a tank. I'm sure if I could hit the open highway I could easily pull over 500 to a tank.

This just amazes me since I have been driving a 1995 Trans Am with the LT1 for the past couple of years and with the same size tank I was lucky to get 250 out of it. I was just curious as to what others get in there cars. Oh by the way my car is stock down to the paper air filter with the only exception being that a muffler was installed.

Sounds good. I get usually 33-35, but I do mostly highway driving. My gas gauge is so off I usually fill 450 miles but I only put in 13-14 gallons even though it is way past "E". I have 105K miles and my only problem, as I posted below, is a leaky valve cover, which I'm doing this weekend. Great car.

These cars have to be one of the best bang for your bucks out there. I mean you get sporty looks, good handling, cheap insurance and if you drive it right awesome gas milage too.

How big are our gas tanks anyway? Are they all the same?

i get shitty gas millage, I think its because of my car having 150,000 miles plus the 2 bad 02 sensors that are unplugged

Almost a 17 gallon tank, now thats a great thing. I came from driving a 95 Trans Am with the LT1 350 and it has a small 14 gallon tank.

I'm not completly sure why there is that big of a difference in what everbody gets. I mean whats the difference in MPG on the window stickers for a turbo and non turbo? Also I guess it depends on how you drive the car to.
