I was wondering if I needed to upgrade the ECU if I put more radical cams in. I have a 93 Talon N/T, I have done a few things to it already.

- P&P head
- Headers
- CAI (custom job)
- Shaved & Decked block (bump CR a tiny bit)
- UDP
- Rem Balance Shafts
- Engine Fully Balanced
- Turbo Cams (temporary till I get better ones)

Also, Would a low restriction muffler hurt my performance, either before or after I put the cams it, and how "radical" should should I make the cams (ie Duration/Lift) for street/autocross, not interested in drag racing, but I do want more power, what can I expect for gains? and where wouild the power curve be?

Thanks,

I would recomend the crower stage 3 cams for your upgrade. They will perform like a stage 1.5-2 on your NT motor. I cant remember the exact duration/lift of the cams but it can be found at....www.crower.com... As far as needing to upgrade your ECU it shoudlnt be a problem. Of course to get the biggest benefit out of the cams i would suggest an SAFC-II to help put you in the best possible state of tune. Some dyno time after the cams are installed would also be a HUGE help. As far as the low restriction muffler, i mean its not going to hurt, but its not going to help much either. It WILL let more air into the muffler but it will also let that air expand more, and when it expands it cools down, which is a bad thing. So its up to you, i really wouldnt recomend buying a muffler unless you plan on buying a 2.5'' cat back system to go along with it.:dsm:
