hmmm i actually meant an exhaust LOL but if you know any cheap intakes too let me know... LOL
 
Does it have a 1.8l or 2.0l? If it has a 1.8l then i'd say go with a 2.25" pip from cat back, with a muffler off ebay or something. If you want extra loud and for it to sound like a lawn mower then get one of those huge N1 wannabe mufflers. I've herd good thingsa bout FlowTech's afterburner mufflers. They give off a deep mellow sound. And you can get them off jegs.com for like 40 bucks. The 2.25" pipe might cost you 50-90 bucks depending on where you go to get it done. Oh, and I'd suggest leaving 1 resonator muffler on too. If it's a 2.0 do the same thing. Only get 2.5" pipe from cat back.

is there any difference in the nt and turbo muffler? i want something free flowing and im sure a nt wont need as much free flow as a turbo so i was wondering if i could go w/ a turbo muffler and stay quiet. andyone have any ideas? if that doesnt work i would still like to go free flow and quiet or low/deep tone, if anyone knows another brand.
 
Yes there is. The GST mufflers flow better and are a nice and cheap upgrade. It'll give you a nice power gain and a nice deep sound. It won't sound like a big a$$ coffee can muffler either. Or, thats what ive read. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

does the gs-t have the same size piping running to the muffler? u know wher ei could get a cheap gs-t stock muffler? if its true it is better-
 
Yeah. I'm pretty sure it does. I think 2.25". I don't know where you could get 1. Check junk yards around your area.

This is actually where the term "turbo muffler" is coined. Since a turbine does a pretty good job of silencing, OEM turbo mufflers can do a lot less restricting to quiet things down. Of course, aftermarket manufacturers took advantage of this performance image and branded a lot of their products with the "turbo" name in order to drum up more business from the high performance crowd. We're sad to say that the term "turbo" has been bastardized in this respect, and would like that to serve as a warning. A "turbo" muffler is not necessarily a high-performance muffler.

well, looking at this i know what u mean.... but ti dosent say it dosent flow better than a nt model muffler.... im not looking for "high performance", just more flow than the nt muffler.

if that dosent work out, anyone have a less restrictive non coffee can idea of a muffler that flows good enough for a small modded nt.
 
Yep, but remember, the best muffler is no muffler! If you want a less restrictive type then you can go with any straight through design from ebay, but you cant just change your muffler, but also the pipes that lead to the muffler.

my plans are to remove the cat and run it straight throu to a gs-t muffler, think that would work? im sorry but no muffler... eh, would just sound like hell on an nt eclipse that isnt going to b fast anyways, LOL.

anyone know if they make a Apex'i World Sport muffler for 1st gen dsms? i heard they were like the N1 but quieter.... probably what im looking for or something similair.
