I was wondering which is weaker. The 2gnt rods or the 2gnt pistons? What I mean is which is able to take more punishment than the other? Or are they the same?

You can't really compare a rod and a piston because they take different kinds of abuse. A rod rotates with the crankshaft and has to be able to handle the power pushing the piston down. A piston moves up and down and takes on all the combustion duties. If your engine is detonating or pinging then the pistons will most likely go first since the rods arent getting a whole lot of extra abuse. But if you are making a lot more power than stock with a well tuned healthy engine then the rods would probably go before the pistons because of the extra power they have to support. These are just a couple examples of their duties BTW and they may fail because of another related part. For example a rod failing because of a bad bearing or a piston failing because of a ring.

if you plan to replace them wait and save so you can both at the same time, because it wont help to blow all the money you have on ones and have the others break and be stuck. they have a different function so as said before cant really compare the two. i plan to eventually replace mine, but i'm going to try and go systematically at least.
