I currently own a 95 gs eclipse and I was thinking about buying a 98 gs-t wrecked car that still have a low mileage engine and everything under the hood. How difficult is it to swap it out. and has anyone done it?

Sorry to say, but it won't fit. Well it will, but it's going to cost you more then $5,000. It's better selling the your car and getting a turbo one. There is a couple of topics on here, so do a search and it'll explain it more in depth. But, basically... it's better to sell your car and get a turbo one. Or you can get a turbo kit from www.hahnracecraft.com

It certainly won't cost you more than $5000..... thats just f'in insane. If it has all of the elctronics with it you're looking at a minimal cost. Most certainly less than $5000.

if you have to go turbo, keep your engine, build it up so its stable , and boost the heck out of it. I wouldnt suggest going turbo on your stock engine, its wasting time, you go small turbo now, you just have to make it bigger and boost it up higher later, even though its easy, just build the engine and then a power adder. my 2 cents

If you are able to source a complete DSM front clip with a 4G63 in it you can make it work.

What you will require is time and patience. The engine will fit, but be aware you will need EVERYTHING which is why I say an entire front clip. The tranny, engine, mounts, wiring harness, ecu, etc. Nothing is shared.

The cost people are giving is usually the cost of a shop with full on labor and all parts. If you get the parts for dirt cheap and are willing to have a lot of down time and willing to deal with the full stripping apart and rebuilding of your car it can be done. In fact, I know it has been done.

The reason people are normally against it is because the cost actually begins to work out to be the same as doing a 420A turbo buildup and you still need to source the parts for a larger turbo, intercooler, etc with the stock 4G63 anyway which is where it becomes non cost effective.
