hey i was just wondering what u guys think of a CO2 intake cooler. How much of a gain do u think you will get? You can get one from Summit and also from Cryfusion.com.

just tryin to sqeeze a few hp's out!

What does it do? Spray the pipe? You wouldn't want to spray CO2 in your engine, that would not be good. I don't think it would do all that much.

thanks for all the threads but they arent talking about what i am. Those are all intercooler sprayer techniques. I am talking about running a line filled with CO2 (so the line is freezing) and when the air passes by the lines it will get really cold therfore adding some horsepower. I have made my set-up already. I will be getting pics soon however i wanted to know what you guys thought.

You mean a cooled line inside the air passages? You won't see _any_ difference. Another little problem is that the CO2 won't be cold inside a line unless you set up an expansion orifice in the line to convert the liquid into a gas..... and then you need to re-liquify the CO2, unless you're thinking of a total-loss system.
Intercooler coolers are marginal help; unless I have no grasp of what you plan, it won't help at all. You can't get enough surface area (you'd need about as much as the intercooler has) to transfer enough heat.

It isnt just one single line through the intake pipe. There are several lines and there is a needle valve right before the intake so any of the line after that practically freezes. The line has frost on it. It runs through the intake pipe then out of the car via a line near the headlight, therefor it gets away from the engine bay and not anywhere near the filter or intake track. This method does help and there have companies that have made them. http://www.cryofusion.com is one example and also there is a system from Summit Sport Compact as well.

So it IS an intercooler, just one using CO2 instead of water or ambient air.

I don't like the idea of cooling the fuel- you want it to vaporize.

Exhaust inducer. O, do tell more.

The set-up they are selling is quite expensive. I would like to rig up something of the exhaust idea. The intake part is type of an intercooler but for me its for my Non-Turbo. It really helps to cool the air. I have also gotten the idea to slip a little thermometer in the intake track to see what the difference it is making?
