Did a compression check on my car few minutes ago and here is what i came up with. did this since i bought a turbo for it and also i have a oil consumption problem. this is on the 420A engine

Cylinder 1 = 210 spark plug was fine
Cylinder 2 = 180 spark plug was fine
Cylinder 3 = 210 spark plug had oil on it
Cylinder 4 = 210 spark plug was fine

Added a cap full of oil to cylinder 2 and let sit for a minute then redid compression check on it...twice

Cylinder 2 2nd time 300 !!!!
Cylinder 2 3rd time 270 !!!!

My conclusions and the guy who helped are that cylinder 3 has bad valve seals and that is why oil is on it. Also i replaced the PCV valve and found oil in the tube and the valve

Cylinder 2 piston rings must be going out if the compression jumped that much, or something else happened or is happening.

SO what does anyone have to add or what not?

I know this is totally off topic, but I love your sig pic man, fro mthat angle it almost looks like a supra, you have one bad ass looking car.

Thanks man! never heard of it looking like a supra but still cool. thanks again.

on topic, i have heard it could be spark plug seals on the valve cover or stem seals that is letting oil on the plug. and i also heard that having one cylinder 20 or so less was normal wear. im going to get a leakdown test just to be sure but heck, my engine might be in great shape for having 117,000 miles on it.

Check these engines out

Yeah i have seen those. If my engine ends up having a piston ring problem then i will msot likely end up getting that engine. unless i find someone around my area who can do the same work and have it done cheaper (actually might know 1 person, but not sure yet) ill probably get one of those....be perfect for the turbo kit that is coming soon

I have or had the same problem I was changing my spark plugs and I put my socket wrench down and removed my spark plugs and oil was dripping off of the spark plug and was all over the socket...I took a fashlight and saw a small pool of oil in 2,3 and 4th cylinders were my spark plugs go...finally I figured it out...valve cover gasket is leaking from the inside(spark plug seals) I belive because when I went to order a new gasket...they mentioned that spark plug seals could be the cause of the leak so I ordered the spark plug seals and the gasket...Its getting replaced soon next week along with my timing belt and new valves...
