2.0 mass air flow sensor on 1.8

was wondering if putting a mass air flow sensor from a 2.0 nt on my 1.8 would give some sort of power increase....has anyone tried this? if so, how does the car run afterwards?

The MAF doesn't really have anything to do with how much hp you make. All it does is detect how much air mass you have going into the engine.

If switching them even did anything at all (they may be the same thing anyway) it would just make the computer think that you are getting either more OR less air than you really are.

if it thinks that you are getting MORE air than you really are then it will compensate by adding more fuel which will make you run more rich...if the other occured then you would start to run lean which is even worse.

Not sure about these cars because I haven't been around them as much as others...but I know that on my GP GT that even if you wanted to make it run richer or leaner by manipulating the MAF sensor that the down stream O2 sensor would detect that you are running rich and then make the car readjust again anyway!

so, it's really pointless and if it even made any change at all it most likely wouldn't be a good one...

thank you for the advice dude.....another quick question, i see alot of the nt's have the underdrive pulley upgraded from unorthodox racing...i just went up on the site and they are discontinuing the part, is there a problem with it??????? or is it maybe because not alot of people are buying em....??
