2nd gear power loss?

I saw this on some site, it might have been DSMtalk.com but i couldn't search because i'm not a member and they aren't letting any one join right now. I searched for it on here but couldn't find it so if this question has been already answered, my bad. Sometimes in 2nd gear at about 5000rpm it acts like it loses fuel or something because it kicks back a little bit....but then quickly catchs back up and keeps going...any suggestions?

2nd gear synchro could be going bad.

my sister's car did that..it ended up being the fuel pump

This thread is really old..but i started working on my eclipse again. IT turns out it was just the fuel filter. It was a pain to change it but it fixed the problem.
