need help selecting an exhaust system

i am looking to install a performance exhaust system but i dont want one that sounds like a weedwhacker. i would like something a little deeper but still sounds awesome. a friend recommended Aerospeed exhausts. could anyone give me some names of aerospeed exhausts or any other exhausts i should install that will not sound like a weedwhacker. also...how big should the exhaust tip be for maximum performance...2.5", 3", etc...

thanks,
jerome

Buy it from a gst/tsi of the same year. Great flow for an nt. Looks stock and sounds good.

I agree besides the downpipe is different, so that is the problem. With some modifications though you could get a new performance catty, and do some adjustments helping it fit. Any muffler shop could get it to fit. Anyways, the turbo stock system does have a good sound to it, but the mufflers are both the same on the cars. I like the sound of the stock system on the 2.0 NT 1st gen. They are awesome sounding. If you want bigger then that, just get a performance muffler[light weight] and slam it on there.

Uhhhh?? My 94 2.0 nt had smaller outlets and a smaller inlet on the muffler than my 95 tsi awd muffler.

Well, on the 1st gen, my friends Talon with a 4G63 NT, had the same muffler as a 4G63 Turbo, so I have no idea what your smoking.

Could be different between first and second gen. That and my new car is a awd. There is a visible difference.
