What Mods Would You Do Next if you were me?

I currently have a 98 non turbo

it has the following done to it already:

1) cold air
2) full exhaust with no cat
3) megan racing headers
4) msd ignition + wires
5) unorthodox racing pulley


so what would you guys do next?? I was thinking about a bigger throttle body.. what do u guys think
 
i would say kyb agx with springs or new sway bars or both for the handeling aspect.

maybe a short shift & brass shift bushings

It has 1 swap bar in the front, but none in the back. Do you think if I added one in the back that it would help out much? It already handles pretty good imo..

I want the car to be a drag strip/street car.. I want to eventually run low 13s with the car while maintaining it as my DD.
 
id do a rear sway bar then look into drag/street coil overs...

i would still to the shifter upgrades...
how do you want to make ## power? n/a or turbo ?

....... should get some sort of tb spacer and a intake mani spacer if staying n/a
also look into cams, valve work... lightin up ## internals and increase the compression ratio

I agree with the others do your suspension as it will help your launches out alot, then maybe a lsd to get the hookup, but if you want to go fast down the strip as a n/a go with the cams, port and polished head, high compression pistons as this will help with your torque and lower strip times!

I want to say n/a for a while and add nitrous to the mix as well. Also the car is an auto I forgot to mention that.

check into a rebuild kit and also do a lil searching around on here ### i remember reading a thread about a "shift box" where you could select what gear aka shift gears when ## car is driving...(cant remember if it was dsm forums or rs25 sorry).

lsd for sure.

Buy a Turboed car. :thumb: But in all seriousness do some internals. lighten up the car as much as possible.

If I wanted a turboed car I'd buy one. I like all motor + nitrous. Not to diss turbos or anything I like them too I just prefer all motor + nitrous.

What kind of tuning device would you recommend to an amateur? My HP goals will be around 350 - 375

MegaSquirt EMS is really the only tuning system for the 420A. Fortunately it's a rather good system. Nevertheless, I think L0ckett was under the assumption that your car has a turbocharged 4G63 motor. The fuel system in an all-motor car generally doesn't need to be upgraded.

I'd recommend some basic suspension modifications, like front and rear strut tower bars. You might consider poly motor mounts too.

Thanks a lot! :hellyeah: I'm going to get some rear bars.. what would you do after that? I'm mainly looking for performance upgrades at this moment.

I wouldn't bother with it if you live in Phoenix. You probably don't have too many problems with rust there...

Yeah and the good news is only behind the doors are bad on the underbody so I won't be using much por15 hopefully I can start to make this car how I want
 
If it were me and i wanted speed. I would invest in a small nitrous kit 25-50 shot some cams and light weight wheels , Underdrive pulley and maybe a ecu upgrade. Maybe some slicks for the track.
 
I would talk to Bullet. He knows exactly what to do. Only with Nitrous will 300-375HP be capable. Bullet knows that too. There's not much he doesn't know about NA 420a Drag capabilities....Seek the Bullet... Seek the Bullett...Seek the Bullet.....:shhh:

there is a throttle body swap you can use from the early year jeeps i think anout 92 or 93 works well
 
i got a 420a with obx intake, venom fuel rail, dc header, full exhaust, and injen intake. any suggestions of what i could do to get some more horse without tubroing it.

Intake, header, and exhaust... those are the three basic power adders, but you already have them all.

Look into an underdrive pulley. There's not much else that will give you a noticeable increase in power unless you're up for nitrous.
