i have searched and searched does anyone know where i can get prothane motor mounts or does anyone know another good brand of motor mounts. my old ones are bad am im going to replace them if anyone could help i would apprecaite it. thanks ... brock

I got mine at http://www.ptuning.com/ . They're made by Energy Suspension. I think they are only like $21.50 shipped, definately the cheapest place I've found them. You can also get them at Jegs.com but they'll cost a few dollars more.

Hey thanks alot thats exactly what i was looking for and the price isnt bad either. cant wait to get them in. did they help at all??

i havent got the motor mounts yet but i'll post as soon as i get them and get them installed.

the prothanes will own you!! haah there great makes me feel like i got a race car or somthing yah know because it rattles alot but im not complaining just telling you whats up.

i know! :Di once test drove a MKIII supra that was up for sale and it had prothane mounts. it shook so much that i was like "screw it". look what i'm getting now. LOL.

is the motor mount the whole metal bracket or what. i think the part that is bad on my car is the rubber donut looking thing so is that the insert? if someone could clear that up i would appreciate it thanks..

they replace the bushing.. or dounut as you say :) no metal here...................but howell automotive sells full replacement for the front that is metal!

the bushing that wears out can be replaced with out the whole metal breacket right.... so where can i just buy the bushing i guess you would call it. a kid tonight told me the inserts go on the existing bushing to stiffen up the bushing. and to get the new donut i would have to buy the whole metal bracket piece is this true. because i would have thought i could just replace the rubber piece that is worn out

You can't just buy the rubber bushing from Mitsu or Chrysler. The prothane mount, on the other hand, is a polyurethane bushing that gets pressed into the metal mount. The only way to replace a dead mount and not have it rattle your fillings out is to get a whole mount, bushing, metal piece, and all, from a dealership or a junkyard. I would just bite the bullet and go to a dealership, though, since they are not a lot of money, and you can never tell how long a junkyard mount will last. It is only rubber, after all.

So I guess they were right when they said sh*t happens. My 95 gs just crapped out on me this last weekend and I need to get it back up asap and fork out the least amount of cash possible. (got some speedin' tickets to pay off!) If there is anybody in the Sac area please feel free to contact me: [email protected]
If you know something I don't, then teach me....I wanna know, ya know?? Maybe I can do the same for you too. trust

ok so i had them installed today. those motor mounts OWNED me! damn, i feel like i'm in a NASCAR race car. it is too stiff for a daily driver. well, basically the stiffest one is the rear engine mount since its is bolted on to the firewall. the front one is alright. anyway, the rear motor mount has to go.

one good side though. the car is planted on to the ground. and i mean PLANTED! definately can give u good launches.

what u mean too stiff?? how is it u feel nascarish?? i was thinking about gettin me some propane mounts.. why u think its too stiff?? is that bad??

if u're just going to install the front motor mount insert, it's no big deal but u can still feel vibrations (actually hear like a "thud" sound) when u crank ur engine. having the rear motor mount, u could hear ur engine/firewall vibrating rather than ur exhaust or ur radio blasting, that's what i'm talking about! btw, did i mentioned i replaced the rear motor mount with a 1G GST motor mount?:shhh: it's stiffer than the NT mount but very tolerable in terms of vibrations.:thumb:

just give it awhile I think they kinda settle down after a few months..or mabye i just got used to them
