Ok well I finally got my car today.Heres some specs:
its a 92 eclipse GS with a 2.0L NT Engine (4g63)
its white and its 5 speed
the car is absolutly mint. Now time for the mods:
What is the best mod to begin with besides the intake pipe and k&n which will be done tomorrow?
 
I'd say spare the air can. Before you cut it, just remove it. 3 bolts hold it down, and the clips will hold the aircleaner on if you fold up a paper-towel around the lip. I find that the engine heat destroy's my standing start's. Once I get moving the extra air helps my top end. So do you want to burn 1st and 2nd or do you want to hit your limiter sooner? Definately drop some dosh on a K&N cleaner. A good Catback exhaust setup would be good, a full exhaust set would be better.

As for tuning, the 1st generation has the short end of the stick. You have the 2.0 DOHC though, and remember, it is a 4G63, not the 420A which is present in newer non-turbo models. If your planning to stay non-turbo, the best bang for your buck is a Nitrous system. You can look at Venom [Very expensive, but the system that comes with it determines if your running too lean, which could cause a melt down, if so, it turns your system off.], NX[Nitrous Express, used by many DSMers, mostly turboes I have seen go this route], and NOS[The fast and the furious main part of the whole show]. There are some other systems like ZEX and such, but I have heard bad things about them so I try to stay away. As for other bangs for your buck, I know that there are two people who offer us intakes. Weapon R, and Injen. Both, probably if you want to see a big upgrade, your going to have to port it out. It will help you in the long run see a horsepower upgrade. As for an exhaust upgrade, I would take a stock Turbo exhaust system, with a high performance cat, and use that. The stock turbo exhaust system is 2 1/4 inch. Which helps you have more flow, but also to keep your preasure and improve horsepower. I have seen people put bigger injectors in, and start running a S-AFC. If you do that usually, you could see an upgrade,but you will start having to run 91 OCTAIN. Headers are available at MachV.com, but they are expensive as hell.

Before I do any performance though, lets talk Maintenance. First, get your timing belt changed, and your balance shaft belt. If you want help doing this, I am only a PM away. Get some NGK plugs, and some NGK wires. Run some high quality oil, K&N filters.

Remember though, DON'T TAKE YOUR EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT SHIELD OFF JUST BECAUSE IT MAY LOOK COOL!!! That bay gets hot enough as it is, and if you got your air-can off your car. Be sure that it's helping you lose horsepower. Think of the heat your motor is sucking in every time the fans turn on, jesus christ, lets just use a blow torch in your hood. The best thing to do is get the coldest air possible, and if that means taking heat out of your bay, then leave the heat shield on, and be happy with the performance you gain.
