Resolved 2GNT No fuel No spark

95 eclipse - Dont have a history on the problem as i got the car cheap non running thinking it had a broken timing belt. Turns out thats not it..

Car cranks over but has no fuel or spark.
No 12v on the center coil wire on initial turn on or cranking
No 12v on fuel pump on turn on or cranking

I was going to check the asd realy but am unsure how and also in the FAQ it shows 3 relays and mine has 4.....

I am going to check power to the cam and crank sensors now. I read 5v on 1 side 9v on the other.
"edit" Just got done. like .9v on one side of each and .5v on the other of each. YEs i know how to read a meter it was .9 and .5...LOL

Anything else i need to be checking. I am not an eclipse guru so im just shooting from experience on other cars..

Runs great... Well it billowed smoke for about 20 minutes and blew chunks of the cat out the exhaust... Then it bucked sputtered and died and when u tried to restart it it bucked and sputterd and died...

Messed with it for like 30 mins and didnt find anything but it magically started working again.. FOr about 5 minutes then it did it again..

Ran codes and got an 11.. SO i swapped out the crank sensor with a newer style one and it runs great again....

SO i would say im doing pretty good
95 eclipse that didnt run $600
Fuel pump, fuel level sender, ecu, crank sensor, door handles, other misc parts from junk yard $50 .
pulled asd relay and manually checked it. Tested good.
COnstant 12v on pin 30
key 12v on 85
BUt with key on it doesnt accuate.
grnded pin 86 manually and plugged it in and it clicks and gives power to the coil with the key on but still no spark on cranking and no power to the fuel pump but i didnt jump that relay.

Checked wirirng from pin 86 to ecu and its good. Pcm is not giving the grounds to accuate the relays
also still no pwr to the cam and crank sensors even with the relay jumpered.

Im leaning towards a fried ecu......
 
No cel light.. bulb was good but i replaced it with one i knew as working and it still doesnt come on...

i get
srs
oil
seat belt

I also dont get a battery light either i noticed.. IT sould be on until the car is running and the alt is working...

reset? disconnect the battery and let it sit? if so then yes the car sat not running for over a year before i got it.. the it has been sitting for 4 months since i got it as i was in iraq.. I just started tinkering with it over the last few days....


Like i said im not a dsm guy. My toy car is a 98 Neon R/T with a 2.4 swap w/ turbo and a bunch of other goodies. Soon to have a MSII setup so i can control fuel and spark..:rocks:
 
yeah well it sits every night without a battery then because i pull one out of my other cars to work on it and put it back when im done.. So that dont work...LOL
 
Got a junkyard ecu today and it looks promising... Put it in and i now get a check eng light, power to coil/fuel pump while cranking and 5v and 9v to the cam sensor and spark from the plugs...

All i gotta do now is drop the gas tank and clean it out because it is nasty from sitting for 1.5 years... The fuel pump actaully rusted up and wasnt working so i picked one up from the junkyard also..

Oh well if this works its a way cheaper and easier fix then the timing belt/head swap i thought the car needed when i got it...
 
If you're not getting spark or fuel here's a list of things that could be preventing it:

- Engine Speed Sensor
- Atmospheric Pressure Sensor
- Throttle Position Sensor
- Crankshaft Position Sensor on a 2G / Camshaft Angle Sensor on a 1G
- Coolant Temperature Sensor
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor
- Knock Sensor
- Reed Switch
- Volume Airflow Sensor

All of the above should be checked as these can prevent ignition on your car.
