Overheating and Humming Engine Noise

I have 96 eclipse gs non-turbo. Searched through the forums if anyone has had similar problems but they all seem to be caused by other sources. Previous owner of this car had overheating problems, coolant was leaking into 1st cylinder (but not mixing with oil, no milky residue found). I took to mechanic and had the head fixed (removed 12mm) and all gaskets replaced, timing belt, water pump, oil pump, all belts replaced, and thermostat.

After all this work, the car seems to have lost some power on acceleration. After reaching the normal temperature the car begins to make a chirping or squealing sound from the belts (can't tell which one). This is followed by a humming sound from the around the head. While this is happing, the temperature from the radiator begins to fluctuate going up for a few minutes and then down. However twice it has remained high at which I've pulled over and turned off the car. I've left the car on and checked that the fan turns on and it does. I'm going to flush the radiator to see if that stops the overheating. But the humming sound is my main concern. I'm hoping someone can give me an idea on what is causing these problems.

I would suggest a coolant flush and Thermostat replacement if your overheating. If you havent flushed your heater core you should do that too, flushing each seperately with water can get alot of crap out.

Humming around the head/belts. Check your bearing on the pullies, remove the belts and psin each one seeing if they make noise. You can also try lubricating the pulleys with the belts on, run for a few minutes let the grease work in and see if that gets rid of any bearing noise.

it could be something else too, just giving idears

while you do this and the belt's are off you can start the motor for a second or two, to make sure it's not your timing/ idler or tensioner making those noises. the car will be runnig on the batterie so don't run it too long.
