I hope someone in here can give me a good idea on what to do. I have looked and cant find the answer to my problem. Im going to run 8 psi in my 420a with stock parts. I know that is the limit for stock parts so i have read about differnt tunning products but dont know what ones to get. so my question is what do i need to tune the 420a for 8PSI without hearing a big bang?

You don't NEED anything. If you're still running stock injectors and a 12:1 or 8:1 FMU, there's nothing you can do to tune it anyways.

What you need for that kind of simple setup is gauges to monitor everything and make sure you're in good shape.

egt boost a/f gauge (preferably wideband if not a narrowband can still be somewhat useful)

8psi isn't the limit on a stock 420A. Its the limit on a limited fuel setup. Our fastest 420A Turbo started out as a 12 second stock block turbo doing like 20lbs. Now its built and almost hitting 10's. Alot of people say our stock internals, if not already damaged, meaning they are in good condition, can handle some power... But not race car power.

Lets not put ideas in his head.

On a basic fuel setup, i.e. FPR and stock injectors you should stay at or under 8psi.

If you are looking to pick up a MS and get a really great tune, you can raise the bar a little.

Good luck and happy boosting.

Actually it was 15-16 lb on the stock long-block, but that was after many hours on the dyno with the Portfueler.

Thanks for the info. What about a missing link or a fuel cut detector.

What one should i get the FCD or the ML and where can i get it.

You can locate the ML's on ebay all the time. Just go on Ebay and search for Missing Link or 420A Turbo and you can find them.

PM Paul for a FCD. I'd get a Fuel Cut Defener tho... more up to date.

im not sure about my internals conditions but im only pushing 8 psi and so far the only problem ive had is the piston ring lands will collasp ive had the problem about 2 times in the last 3 months good for me i can do all the work my self
