Hey, i have a guy trying to sell me arp headbolts and he said that they will fit both the 420a and 4g63. Here is the email.

"These are left over from a build we did several months ago. They were ordered for a 420 turbo build up. I contacted ARP direct & spoke with their tech support. I was told by their tech that they will work for both. The part # 207-4203 which is a 4g63 application. I also questioned using them in both, But I am sure that someone from ARP is smarter than me."

Is this true?

Even within the 4g63 on the 6 bolt crank and the 7 bolt crank there's a difference in diameter. I would be extremely surprised that a Mitsubishi 4g63 has the same head bolts as a Chrysler Cirrus type 420a which this motor is.

good Luck

Yes. Actually the 420a engine is a Cirrus, Stratus engine. Also, the charging circuit is Chrysler. Just try to find the voltage regulator. The Neon also has the 420a but apparently is not the same according to salvage yards.

Sorry bout that.

Go to Ebay and type in ARP headstuds. You will see there's 6 bolt studs and 7 bolt studs. That would tell me that yes indeed they are different.

Good Luck

so no one knows?
The Mitsu tech just told you no, and now I'll tell you no as well. :D

You can use 4G63 studs to mount your header (do research), but you could simply hit up ARP's website and search there if you wanted another opinion. Even so, I wouldn't buy them. :toobad: :nono:

I wouldn't buy them either AND I would be carefull with the other chrysler head bolt swapping suggestion. The 4 outer bolts on the 2.0L SOHC neon are shorter than the 6 inner bolts. In addition there's a revision in the torque specs for the head bolts that came out with the MLS headgasket revision in place of the composite.

Your best bet is to use OEM headbolts. Your next best bet would to get the bolt specifications and see if you can get equivellants from ARP.
