Cat or Straight Pipe

Can someone help me out? Which is better for a non-turbo a high flo cat or a straight pipe? Thanks...

id almost say cat if youre using big pipe, just to get some good backpressure action goin on

But the actual backpressure that is good for engine, to suck the exhaust out is acustical, and just having a restrictive device (assume the cat's contents acts like a restrictive air filter in the line of the exhaust) would just cause build up, as say a resonated testpipe, which reflects low pressure waves back up the headers which "grab" the exhaust and "pull it out". There is a link to a good explanation on how "backpressure" works somewhere in this forum. I'll post it when I get to my computer at home. So, I think that a resonated testpipe would work the best out of a straight testpipe, resonated testpipe, or high-flow cat. You can get one from www.testpipes.com, it will also make your exhaust note quiter, deeper and manlier sounding.

You can bypass the 2nd O2 sensor, so CEL's arn't a problem. Props to being legal though.
