best motor is the 95-96 stratus u need to mod the oil pan motor mounts timing belt tensioner cam angle senor the valve cover and a bit more for a engine swap it isn't to bad but its not like a honda swap ....

i chat on 2gnt yes but im not well known on anyof the boards im more the silent read and learn type but i decided i would starhelping people now, i have the1bill on my aim list we chat back and forth daily about the swap...

u can geta manifold from star ner and hahn or u can get one from a guy on 2gnt.com and asog.com tti also makes one,

phatridz has a trick manifold design on their site i havent gotten to figure out if it works for us or only the neons...
 
u can use the pt crusiar bottom end or the stratus motor either will work check out www.bstockum.com

Sorry about being late on this thread, yes, it is possible. No, it is not easy. Would I recommend this swap? Jury is still out on that one. I am on the verge of murdering the person who said that it is an easy swap and that I should just go for it <shakes fist and grumbles loudly>. This swap is a real #@%#@%#@%#@%#@%, and if the results are not at least astounding, then I won't be able to find it in my heart to recommend this death march of a swap to anybody. I think that a small block V8 would be easier. :p

well the beautiful thing about the swap is 20% more displacement... if you get a pre-2001 engine it is easier. after 2001 the intake/ exhaust manifolds off of your car won't line up (different bolt pattern). if you get a post 2001 block you have to swap your head over to the 2.4. i don't care which engine you get cause i would swap over the head any way cause all you connections are the same, no costom wiring b/s. if you want the write-up about it i'll dig it up and post it.....
 
dig it up please me and the1bill i thought were the only 2 doing this swap in the dsm many in neons have been done i wonder if i have seen the write up before?

Actually, you really want to use the 2.0 head, as it flows the same way and you can use your manifolds. It would be prohibitively difficult to use the 2.4 head.

i am usging my 2.0 head, 95-96 stratus tensioner setup with bd tensioner and 95 stratus oil pump removed balance shafts gonna be a afx udp and i dunno about cam gears yet.... cams will be stock till i get upgraded ones,
