ok, so I have had this clinking, rattling sound from inside my tranny for about a month now....you can hear it best when it idles, you her clink,clink,clink,clink...

So I push in the clutch and it goes away completely....'

So im like oh for sure it’s the throw out bearing, no problem. replaced it...still does it...so I said fine, it must be a broken bearing inside the trans, so I had ALL the trans bearings replaced...so I get it back today. Still does it...the only thing I can think of is the clutch it self...My clutch is new from clutchnet, so im thinking maybe they messed up something?

Im so confused cuz it goes away completely when I push in the clutch

What is this noise!?!?

I had the same exact problem in my 97 n/a eclipse the problem is that the fly wheel needs to be cut just like rotors when you change your clutch or clutch parts. Also after reinstalling your clutch being a 2 or 3 piece clutch you must make sure when you bolt it back on you cross tighten the bolts just lik on a rim and use a torque wrench. The noise you hear is the rubbin of pressure plat of the throw out bearing because the clutch is not in perfect balance. I had the same problem even changed the tranny at my garage with a spare i had, didn't help finally i ripped it out again this time doing the above procedure and the prob;em is gone. also it did it more in the cold or when i first start the car than any time.

hey, i could really understand what you were saying...all i could understand is you have to bolt it back together with a torque wench, ok...but what do i have to cut, you said somthing about cutting...let me no...what exactly did you do to fix the problem

1)the most important is that you bolt the clutch on like a wheel to balance it. you tighten 1 bolt than the 1 across then the 1 across from that and so on just like a wheel 2)than if bad cut the flywheel: can be done by any machine shop
just like you get a pair of rotors cut this is most likely not necessary unless you pound your car

Most likely it's just your clutch being unbalanced when you take it off you'll see the excessive wear where the throw out bearring meets the pressure plate. just bolt it on tighten from side to side and use a torque wrench for the specific foot-pounds from a chilton or haynes manual.
What you hear is metal rubbing in an unbalanced rub between flywheel and clutch components
