Not sure if it's a security system problem or something else. I do have this posted in the Newbie forum, but curious if there are any local DSMers that could help me out. Turn the key to on, all is fine... Turn to start and everything shuts off. Back to on and accessories are on again. Hmmm.... Engine swap, and I need help.

Check you batt terminals. Corrosion on the inside of them will do that. Also check to be sure you have the large ground wire and the small ignition 12v wire on the starter.

Is this a very common problem? I'm having the same issues, but I've traced it to between my ignition and the solenoid. I can jump the solenoid, and the car will crank. And I can start it fine then. But otherwise it won't even crank.

I actually got this resolved. I have the car on blocks and it wasn't rolling into park. Threw it into neutral and it started. Working on buttoning it up, filling it with fluid, and starting it.

On a side note, the stupid passenger axle isn't coming out. :(

Glad to hear you got it running! I had to wire a button into mine, kind of like a push button start. Works fine while driving it. Made sure there wasn't a fire hazard, and it'll work to get me to school and work. But going to have to take the wiring harness apart searching for the problem.
