Anyone running a precision 6466 on a built 2.0 liter? Just wondering what I can expect for spool time!?

Yeah nobody is running the 6466. But allot of people don't specify. My buddy has the turbo on his evo but it's a 2.4 liter...

My friend went from the turbo he sold me gt4088r on his s2000 to the 6466 and said he dropped 800rpm spool time and maxed out the turbo at 816whp so over 900 at the motor. Loves the turbo.

Everyone I've known with Precision turbos has complained about the life span of their turbos and would not recommend getting another one. I know everyone has their own opinion and everyone has had different experiences with precision turbos, but that's just my 2 cents.

A lot of Srt owners were running these precision turbos and from what I understand they seemed pretty pleased with spool time and powerband. I never heard any really bad news about these turbos breaking down after a period of time but everybody had different situations where a turbo could last two years or two days. I would have to think your spool time would be relatively quick although that is a rather large turbo LOL.
Sorry I cant give you an exact number but if I could guess 3500-4200 rpm?
Dan

You are correct about the Journal bearing units. The ball bearing units have had far less failures in relation. The BB failures are all user error as far as i can tell. The JB units have the most problems there was a large discussion about PTE modifying the Garrett shaft to fit their journal bearings and that is the cause of failure. although PTE blames Garrett, PTE has not ever once sent Garrett a failed unit for inspection. Garrett believes their failures are due to modification of their CHRA and or turbine shaft. Give me a min to find the article.

I owned an SCM6152 and had no problems with it what so ever at all. I loved it, sold it go go bigger.

Yeah I personaly have not had good luck with precision turbos. I would like to try the 6466 when budget allows but scared of the spool time and lifespan of the turbo. Right now I have a forced performance 3065 and have had zero problems with it for four years! And forced performance offers an upgrade for the 3065, "Upgrade customer's FP3065 turbocharger with 82mm HTA billet compressor wheel for $700.00". I wonder what that would do for me? The 6466 would be $1350 plus the cost of a new manifold. So I don't know just trying to weigh my options!
