Has anybody thought about sanding the backing and then spraying the whole back with maybe two coats of VHT nightshades? It would create the "off" effect for the cars with the black clusters, and then wire up the cluster lights to turn on with ignition so it lights up whenever the car is on? Wait.. you'd have to spray the front lol.
