Make sure all the pulleys "line up" (no offset - site from 1 pulley to the other to check) and are not bent. Also use correct belt (length, width, #ribs if ribbed belt or if it's a V-belt the thickness must not be so much that it touches (bottoms out) on the pulley groove (I'm not sure which type of belt the 420A has so I'm mentioning this), and of course tensioned properly.
