hey whats going on, anyway, today morning i was on the highway driving home from my 12hr shift, and i hit the gas then all of a sudden the service engine light came on, then 2sec later the red light with the oil picture came on and my car just stopped moving, couldnt turn the wheel or anything, i get out of my car and my hood is smoking alittle, and by my front passenger side its just leaking of oil, like bad, my whole front passenger rim was soaked, and it kept leaking since when it happened from 6am and it was still leaking alittle when i dropped it off to the mechanic at 10am. Before this, about 2weeks ago i told my mechanic my car was leaking, they had it for acouple days said there was no leak, so they put some dye on it, and to call them a week later, well i get my car back, and i start hearing a weird noise, through researching i thought it was just cause my timing belt being fasten too tight, so i was like whatever, ill get it check a week later when they take out the dye, I called them Monday and told them bout the weird noise and they were like bring it thursday(which is tomorrow).

The thing is my car just got my engine remanfactured 3000 miles ago, and i got my oil change 1500miles ago, my engine has a 3year warranty, they already knew I had an exhaust and short ram intake before they ever worked on it and said it was okay, i added the header bout 1000miles in, they never said anything bout that. I called my friend who has knowledge bout cars and he told me he thinks i probably blew my motor, just wondering, can they blame my mods for this happening by any chance, or some other way to weasel out of fixing my problem under warranty? If they blame me for this happening is there anyway I could sue them, and actually have a chance of winning. Im sry if this is a noob question, im just really worried, havent slept all day, they didnt call me to tell me the problem, and they're closed now, im gonna be thinking about this the whole night.I just bought this car about 6months ago, and i wasted acouple grand on engine, wheel/rims, lights, and stuff to make it look nice and i know if i sold it id lose just too much money so im stuck with this. Thanks for those who actually read this, i know its kinda long, and my grammar isnt the best.

Do you have receipts from taking your car in, with your complaint written on it. If so, it shows you know something was wrong, they checked it and found nothing. There for, its a mistake on their part.

Hey, sorry to hear about your car! As far as warranty claims, I would think that you should be covered. The company has to prove that your modifications directly caused the problem to void a warranty, and with the basic mod's you are talking about, I doubt they could create enough causality to void your warranty.

i also had a new engine put in and with the few mods i had done to the car even after replacing the engine, it is still totally covered

hey thanks for the quick replies, my dad just called me he went there personally, acouple hrs ago, they think its the oil pump hose got expanded, and became loose, at least i know thats def not on me, but they're gonna give me a sure answer tommorrow on what exactly the problem is.

Oil pump hose? Over tightened timing belts? It sounds like you're getting the run around. Maybe the seal on the oil pump went out; that would certainly spray oil all around the passenger's side wheel well. If your car actually shut off because of a lack of oil, though, I can't imagine the engine is in a serviceable condition.

X2 My thoughts also, as I read through.

If it was me and they said the engine was still good.... I would be very worried about that engine. Loss of oil pressure and the engine shutting off like said already is not good at all....

yes, i would have to agree. if there is proof of oil pump problems, you can almost garantee there is damage to the rod bearings, journal bearings, and also possibly to the cam bearings...since they are at the top i would assume they get fed oil last. Just dont let them play you, just remember whos holding all the cards now! Good luck tho:dsm:
