Heh, they need a turbo that is as big in ratio as a 20G is for our cars. Run 30PSI on that. Damn that would be powerfull.

our waukesha's @ work are about the size of a minivan. v-12 7042 cubic inch displacement. Twin-Turbo too . I've seen them throw a rod once, threw it clean through the block and dented it into the engine next to it. you ought to see when you drop a valve

That turbocharger is nothing compared to what they actually use. I'm trying to find some good pictures, but I'm reading about 11,000 CFM turbos at 250 PSI. The compressors alone weigh 40,000 lbs, and a driveshaft off the turbo itself (not even the motor) makes 1,200 horsepower.

These things are as big as livingrooms... really really freaking huge.

Oh, and they use these engines for power generation, and on large ships. 1 inch per gallon anyone?
