Hey All, Im bach from a week away from the net. Felt blind all week.

Thanks to everyone for keeping the tread alive and keeping track of the count for me while I was away.

Just seein if any of you guys have any interest

Im gonna be down at great lakes speedway tomorrow night.

Its fun, im sure there isnt gonna be a ton of people like on sunday, so yeah, 25 or 30 bucks you can run your car from 6-10

yesterday i ran a 14.3 @ 94 with a killer hangover and a terrible reaction time. Im thinkin 14.0 tomorrow

Yeah, its out.

and the car's gone.

I got an engine stand yesterday so ill have the cherry picker cleaned up and ready to go probably tonight.

I just gotta figure out how to get the damn torque converter off of the motor so i can put it on the stand.

and no, still havnt figured out the clickin noise, its gettin worse though.
 
I live in Cudahy..right outside downtown Mil. Sorry about my dumb user name..i made it up back when i first got my car...it was dead and i needed help..LOL..now i cant change it..damn..anyways..any of you own the red eclipse...its gotta be a 97 or 98..its a convertible and its droped..with some decals along the sides?...i see it on pulaski ave. in cudahy often...well whatever the case if youre a member of this site ..i love the car it looks awesome..heh...anyone else from or around Cudahy?
 
Hi Helpmeplease.

There are several members from the Milwaukee area. Scope this thread and the sign up list for the meet next month. feel free to jump in on any discussions we have on this thread. (a couple cruses have poped up here and there) I know the Milwaukee guys are always looking to cruse.

i posted this up in other areas on the forum and havent got much of a response..maybe you guys can help....My 96 rs n/t is having problems...in the morning when its cold i mean nippy cold it starts up fine..but when i go to put it in drive it sputters out right as i pass nuetral..(if thats how you spell it) and it also feels kinda sluggish when it shifts gears..(automatic) so i take it to a Mits. dealer and pay them $75 so they can scan it with thier computer..and they tell me that the only thing wrong is my "DownStream Oxygen sensor"....They tell me that replacing this sensor will fix the dying in the cold morning problem..and it will also fix the sluggy shifting problem.....so i pay them $275 to put the sensor in.....blindly i drove it home and was happy...the next morning i wake up and go to my car and what happens?....it dies on me when i go to put it in drive..and it still feels sluggish to shift gears..(ive never owned a dsm before so maybe they are all knda sluggish to shift.but i highly dought it)....so i call them back and theyre like...ummm..aaa..so i hang up the phone..and here i am..hoping one of you guys can solve my problem...:p....


p.s. i also hear a whistling sound when i try to go fast....please tell me what that means...(a buddy of mine thinks its a sucking sound..and says i may have a leak of some sort..could he be right?)

Man if you wern't a WI DSMer youed get flamed good for posting this here.

Anyhow, a bad o2 sensor will cause the mixture to be off when cold and cause it to stall when you apply load. (shift into gear I assume this an auto tranny)

Next time try holding one foot on the brake and one on the gas to see if a LITTLE gas will keep it running. If so then you can try the O2 sensor closest to the the manifold or the temp sensor as they work together to keep the mixture right when its cold. (however there are so many sensors on these things its tough to tell which one. find one at the bone yard and do some cheap swaps. Also tell saten you want your $ back or fix it for free!!)

As for the sluggish shift, I assume this too is when you just started the car. The fluid is cold and will cause the sluggish shift. If it does it after warm up try getting a fluid and filter change and see if it gets better.

GLD was fun last night

My best was a 14.103 @ 96.6 Mph

Not bad for having the factory exhaust still on.

Anybody interested in going to GLD on Fri. May 2nd? MAybe a few of us could meet up down there. I will finally have a chance to run the talon, instead of all my friends slow cars.

Cool. We will most likely have a bunch of cars. They will range from Camaros to s-10s to my DSM.

Has anyone thought of anywhere to hold the meet? I was thinking of Boerner Park in Milwaukee. Anyone else have any ideas?
