i was just wondering if anyone knew how to do the windsheild wiper mod where you get rid of one of the blades so you just have the one blade that covers your whole windshield im not sure how you do it but i think it involves removing one whole arm and bending the other then getting a larger blade (24 inch?) ... i dunno i was just wondering if anyone has done this mod or knew how to do it , thanks

I would recommend not doing it. Cause it looks ricey. I know mine is like that just because the drivers side arm is broken and I have my passenger side come down and over the drivers side so i can see in the rain. There is no purpose to have it like that. If its not broke. Dont fix it.

You call this rice?

alright thanks for the link...

and my personal opinion.... i am well aware that many fellow dsmers consider doing this type of thing "ricey" but personally ive seen cars that have it and i like the look and style of it...furthermore i wouldnt consider myself a ricer i just wanna add some style to what i see as a rather plain car....i think the mod makes it look unique and more sporty

now if you wanna know what a ricer is...talk to a kid in a civic dx with a body kit, rims, and a million APC stickers and about every visual mod you can have all in a car barely pushing over 100 hp driving up besides me or seeing me in a parking lot asking me to race just cause he thinks he can impress some dumb bi*** with him that he's trying to score with.... THAT my fellow dsmers is what i call a ricer

removing one wiper should get a good 10oz. weight reduction.

its easy i did it in like 10 min yesterday....just take the passenger wiper nad move it at like a 20* angle or something like that...make sure it goes over far enough but not over the side of the windsheild

All I'm saying is that you don't see JGTC cars driving down the street. So there is a big difference between a daily driven car with the mod done compared to some JGTC car that is supposed to be extreme with paint color and graphics, as well as other items.

I see a Bomex sticker! Bomex makes body kits, and we all know that body kits are instantly rice!

Ok. Removing one wiper is the stupidest thing Ive ever heard of in my lifetime.

Number 1:In many states its illegal to not have two working blades.

2. Its pretty damn unsafe in the rain. There is no way in hell one blade is gonna cover your ENTIRE windshield which then lowers visibility. You are gonna risk peoples life so what your car stands out? Tell that to the guy you hit when you cant see ass and your car looks yo yo hot.

3. You are a ricer if you have one wiper. Sorry to tell you. Unless one of your control arms is beat that’s what you are. Also its not a MOD. Removing a wiper and moving one farther up then tightening it with a wrench is not considered a MOD. If anything its making your car less safe.

4. You cannot compare it to that car in the photo its a fully built race car. Chances are his car is not in professional rally racing or road courses FULLTIME. Those are built for one person in the car with one seat and are designed to cover enough for the driver to see. Horrible comparison.

I mean i could argue that helmets shouldnt be legal in all states with something like this:

LOL I mean come on.

Bottom line car comes with two wipers for a reason. Unless you have some expensive BenZ that comes stock with the one HUGE wiper don’t make your car tacky. 1g's are clean the way they are. You wanna do something for it to stand out save up some money and get nice rims or ncie suspension and drop it a little.

That’s my .02

Huh??? Why would a passenger need to see out the windshield?

or do it right and go here:

The last link will have a kit that will be more functional. I'd still use a dose of Rainex with it. If you do it the first links way (I.E. cheap) then it's going to look normal but more than likely it won't cover the last 1/4 of the windshield on both sides when you try to wipe away rain.

Anyway, sometimes people can be real assholes. Wait, I mean all the time. What a waste of bandwidth when you have 12 posts saying the exact same thing. Just to address a few things:

Huh??? Why would a passenger need to see out the windshield?

You guys were comparing it to Rallying. Rallying almost ALWAYS has a much needed navigator.

Number 1:In many states its illegal to not have two working blades.

Hehe, pull up the laws for me. There are quite a few stock cars that come with one wiper blade. This is just like people who say "Having a full carbon fiber body is illegal." Tell that to the owner's of Mclarens.

Again, some of the more pricey stock cars have em. Hell, I don't use my wiper blades because I have Rainex. My stock blades would be more unsafe than his wiper mod conversion (120k miles and I can say they've probably enver been replaced)

Such friggin clones. Just to address everyone: It's his car. I don't appreciate people telling me what to do and what not to do with a car. I think it's a bit tacky but I have enough sense not to go bashing him. If he asked for opinions it would be a different story. It'd be like everytime someone in this forum says "I'm getting a 16g" I chime in "But an L2r/20G/T28/whatever is better!' It's uneeded and it just creates situations where 9-12 newbs come in and chime the same thing trying to sound funny.

Oh, and you don't consider 28 pound 18" chrome rims on 245/55/18 that scrub when a person changes lanes on a 1g tacky? Or how about a 2" drop using a progressive spring on stock struts without a camber kit and telling people you can "corner like Initial D?" It's that kind of stuff that bothers me.

Call me crazy but that yellow RX-7 is not a rally car. Now that I think about it I retract the rally part. They ALWAYS have two much needed
wipers. :thumb:

Yeah the expensive cars that have the ONE control arm. When a car is built for two wipers it should have two wipers, when it's built for one wiper it should have one wiper. Hmmmm is this concept that difficult.

EXACTLY more pricey cars have em STOCK. Meaning they are made to cover the entire window and when you turn it off it goes back down under the hood. It's not some eyesore that can obstruct your vision is it? Didn't think so. Also if you havent replaced your wipers that makes you just as bad. Thats extremly unsafe if it rains. Granted you have the RainX but still dude there not that much money.

Wow your dense.

1. There 17's for one smartass.

2. I have KYB AGX with H&R's. Shows how much you know ricer. Its actually a 1.3 inch drop 1.5 at the most.

3. I have a camber kit get a clue man. Ingalls.

Sorry I dot have the ONE WIPER MOD..... LOL thats so funny. I cant believe that was your defense. Anyway I replied cause my buddy had your precious one wiper mod got in an accident. Its unsafe plane and simple. You can come back again and try to flame me all you want. The point here is the car was made for two and putting one just makes the car unsafe in inclimate weather and tacky when its sunny. Hey to each their own I guess. :barf: But when you get in a wreck cause you cant see in a big rain storm dont come crying here.

PS Oreo if you care to continue this feel free to IM me at MyEclipse00. I was sharing how I felt and you turned it personal. Grow up dude. If it quaks like a duck and looks like a duck its a duck. Rice is rice.

by the way it rained today and the one wiper was perfectly fine!!

Lol, now I'm an ass fr not using my wipers? I guess you've never used Rainex. I could remove my wiper blades; but that'd just attract too much attention from cops. You apparently have never used it so I'll explain the feeling in one word. awesome. It's just like the box says: "Never use those wipers again." It's not "extremly unsafe if it rains." So quit backpeddling your arguments.

Wow your dense.

Yep, I suck.

Too much to respond to so I'll make it short.

Your defense? Your defense should be to back up your proprosal that it's rice. For God's sake...you were saying having one wiper was illegal even though there are cars like that STOCK.

Why would I bi*** about the rain and crashing? Rainex man. Try it sometimes; the stuff really works. And I don't have the one wiper mod; I even siad it looked tacky. But I linked hi mto the kit to do it the right way rather than make up blatant lies.

Oh, and BTW. Wow, your buddy was hurt in an accident due to his own stupidity and taking his own risks. My bro was killed in an accident 3 weeks ago because of another's stupidity. Yea, talk about making it personal. :|

I'm done with this.

Fastest reply ever no doubt.

First learn how to spell dude cause you are all about RainX yet you have no clue how to freaking spell it.

I think it's funny you tell me I should use it yet you can't even spell the name of the product you praise so much. Also I don't care what the box says I use RainX as well and you still need your wipers specially in heavy rain. So get over it man seriously. LOL

And finally backpedalling? LOL what on earth are you talking about. You have confused me with your ricer mantality. I guess that saying never argue with an idiot they will take you down to their level and beat you with experience. Is true cause you completely lost me on that.
