i have a 1g gsx...my buddy has turbocharged h22 hatchback.....he has wants to race me
rolling and at a stop....my mods are...stevie tek fuel sysem,sx fuel filter,aeromotive fpr,550cc,255lph walbro,ported 2g exhaust manifold,ported evo o2,14b,3inch turboback,
frontmount IC,afc..............i know i can get him at a stop but at rolling is where i really want to beat him....looking to get a evo III turbo with all the works(ported,34mm,clipped)
will this turbo help me beat him at a roll......looking to boost about 20 psi....also will thre Evo III turbo give me 350 hp to the wheels easy or is that pushing it

race him and find out.

And video it for us and post it in the video links section.

I would get a bigger turbo. You have some good mods, you would benefit a lot better from a higher flowing turbo. I recommend you get a 50 trim, or at least a 20g for the top end you are looking for.

350 at the wheels for the evo 16g is close to it's max output, i'm pretty sure it's max output is like 375.

Go big and spank his ass from a roll! :thumb:

My experience with this turbo is limited, but I don't think you will get 350 WHP from it.Others will disagree, but I'd recommend going straight to a 50 trim, the power gained going from a 14b to a big16g isn't worth the price.

you will not be able to make 350 at the wheels on a 16g(unless you use nitrous, or have a another power adder), it just doesnt flow enough air for it . and a 16g max output based on its airflow is 375 BHP, but thats at the crank, not at the wheels. and that ammount of power is made with the boost in the low to mid 20's. 375 at the crank would be about 300 at the wheels, maybe a little less with awd drivetrain(usually 20% loss in our cars). 300whp is about the most you will be looking at with a 16g.
nor will you make 350 at the wheels on 550cc injectors, they just dont have enough flow to support that much hp.

if your really loking to make that number, which doesnt really mean anything, then look at a 20g and some 660cc or larger injectors. but im running a small 16g(which in my expirance is the faster of the 16g turbos under about 21 psi) and 550s, and although im prob making more along the lines of 300 whp, i dont know of many turbo hondas that can beat me. my set up is easily good for a 12 second pass in the quarter(was gonna run it lastnite, but we took to damn long to get to the track and got there just as the staging lanes closed).

but truthfully,m if your car can take the honda from a stop now, then you dont need much more to beat it from a roll. iv had a 1g with a 14b, and im running a 16g on my current one, and the difference is like night and day. if you just want to beat him, the evo 16g should be plenty, but if you want to make more then 300 at the wheels, get a 20g or larger.

Our local DSM club had a dyno day last weekend, and a guy with a GS-T and EVO III turbo put down 308WHP. And he has an extensive list of supporting mods-- injectors, FMIC, etc., and was tuned pretty well. I would have to agree that 350 to the wheels is not realistic for this turbo. I'm not saying it's impossible (although it may be), but quite hard.

you wont have a chance your gonna need something bigger than a 16G. A hatch weights about 2300lbs (would be lighter but has a heavy engine) now add a 200HP 2.2L engine...that alone is a deadly combo but, then its turbo charged lets say it increased the output to 275-300HP if its tuned and has all supporting mods. Since 1G AWD weight about 3,000lbs your gonna need about 400HP to keep up with it from a roll. if you do a 1/4 or a "streetrace" you should have him since he will probably be peeling out until 3rd but anything after a 1/4 he will probably walk you bad

i have a big16g.. id go straight to at least a bolt on t3/t4 50 trim if i had to do it again from scratch..

im sure the big16g is capable of 300-350.. but its pushing the turbo to its limit.. i like to know i can attain that on normal conditions.. (pump gas, moderate boost, moderate tuning) thus why i cant wait to get rid of mine and get a 50..

There are many people pushing 43-45lb/min out of the EVOIII turbo with race gas and proper supporting mods. That is what the 20G is rated at.

Good call Kelton.

The EvoIII 16g is MORE than capable of 350 whp. As a matter of fact, the SMALL 16g dyno record is more than 350 whp, like 355 or 361 or something.

The EvoIII 16g will give you more like 370-400whp as a max range, most likely on race gas.

However, even if you run race gas and make the max power than an EvoIII can make, you're not going to beat a turbo H22 hatch. My friend's turbo B18 hatch traps well over 110 mph.

If you want to walk down a car like that on the highway, you need to be prepared to trap closer to 120. It's time for a 20g or a 50 trim.

yeah i must agree the hatch has a pretty good combination and its gonna take alot but then again look at :thumb: ArticTsi :thumb: with his stock turbo is going 12.1 . the hatch if he didnt touch internals he wont be pushing more then 275 at the wheels just because the compression ratio is between 10.0:1 to 11.0:1 depending on which h22 he has , that car will lose traction very very very easy, when i had my sol with just h22 with H/E/I i couldnt spin through first and 2nd fairly easy then again i was running 205's on 15 inch rims. So u can probably take him in 1/4 mile race but i dont know about the roll. race and find out. i raced a supra in my school and got whacked up, down, left, and right, made my car look like a geo after mid 2nd gear. Never hurts to try :thumb:

both...............he thinks he can get me both.............but i told him we are even ...i'll win one he'll win one........i told him if i spent as much money as he did i would be running in the 10's..(he spent about....almost $8000).....he laughed...
