Will an aftermarked BOV fit on an otherwise stock turbo engine?

I was wondering if a BOV (aftermarket) hks or blitz would fit directly onto the stock engine without too much work.

Also, would there being any advantages to the aftermarket one performance wise?

You just need some kind of adaptor fitting, and it will fit.

On a stock car, you will only have an increase of problems due to venting to atmosphere, and no positive side effects.

If you want a aftermarket BOV...PLEASE buy a new Upper I/C pipe to put it on along with it. It is totally rediculous to put a new BOV on the POS plactic smashed I/C pipe. You have to usually buy and adapter anyway.

Go to www.dejontool.com and look at their upper I/C pipes. nicely made and affordable.

I agree with that. Replace the crappy IC pipes!

or you can do what i did and have a upper pipe that performs just as well as the $80 one by going and getting a 2.5" mandrel bent section of exhaust and a couple of silicone couplers. thats the home depot performance way :thumb:

yea man.. dont waste ur time putting a bov on those crappy stock plastic/flimsy pipes.. just get urself some upper ic pipes to go along with it.. ur gonna end up doing it later anyways..

It will work fine on your stock IC pipe, but you will have more of an advantage if you get a new IC pipe as well. I am selling my brand new HKS SSQ with the kit and everything to just "plug and play" on your stock IC pipe and it has the recirc kit as well. PM me if you are interesterd.
Any aftermarket BOV will give you a performance gain because it wont leak as easily as the crappy stock plastic one.

Regardless of what intercooler piping you use, you should upgrade to the 1g BOV and stay away from the aftermarket ones. The latest issue of Sport Compact Car compared some stock and aftermarket BOV's on an Eclipse and the 1g BOV outperformed all of the aftermarket ones (no surging) plus your car will run better and you will save money. The only reason you would need an aftermarket BOV is if you are running seriously high boost or if you are interested in style over substance. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I completely agree with you on this. I put a TurboXS on my 1g and the car never seemed to run right (even though it sounded cool). After a while I decided to go back to the stock BOV and I'm so glad I did. The car runs alot smoother and stronger. :thumb: :talon:
