Will 99gst ECU work on 95gst?

For 2 weeks now i've been fighting to find out why cylinders 3 and 4 are NOT getting any pulse to the injectors and i've traced about every wire and it all leads back to a bad ECU, since I have a 95gst it has EPROM, but im trying a buddies ECU out of a 99gst, will everything work fine with it if my computer was bad?

I cant remember right off hand, but do 2g's have the little "engine relay" box inside by the ECU or is that just 1g's? I know if that goes it can do some stupid stuff.

But to answer your original question, yeah it'll work but you have to swap plug wires around, 1 with 2 and 3 with 4 if im not mistaken, and Steve mentions something about swapping a wire(or pin cant remember which) at the ecu.

Swap the plug wires between the coil packs and it will run fine. You will get a check engine light because the 95 doesn't have all the smog equipment that the 99 ecu will look for but it won't affect how it runs. I've loaned out my stock ecu to be temporarily used in both a 95 and a 96 and worked fine in both minus the check engine light from emissions.

im not real sure I understand bro. Can you put that in retard for me . Also, do you think thats why I dont have injector pulse to 2 cylinders?
