Wierd sound when clutch is in. help please!

When I depress the clutch at idle, it makes a rubbing, humming, ratchet sound. I have no idea what it is. When I get under the hood and listen while someone else presses the clutch, it almost sounds like it's coming from the belts, but that doesn't really make sense to me. Do I need a new clutch/fly/etc. Please help.

How old is the clutch?

EDIT: Which side of the motor is the main bearing on? The dreaded CW may be knocking on yer door...

Lay down under the car and have someone depress the clutch while you look at the clutch master cylinder, make sure thats working.

whats CW? Its stock clutch on 90K

I had the i idea that it could be my fly

be detailed about how to figure out whats wrong please

CW is Crankwalk. I own a 1G and don't much about the tell-tale signs of crankwalk but I know you can find tons of info on it on the forum. When I had clutch problems I checked the clutch master cylinder underneath the car to ensure it was depressing properly and to see where exactly the sound was coming from.
