Man one of the best threads iv read. You head must be jammed packed with knowledge. Does everyone you talk to about this car feel dumb? I definitely would haha. But wow I must say supper impressed and envious of your master work and knowledge

Haha thanks,

I'll be honest, I just like confusing people. Its actually fun watching them scratch their heads confused of what the actual car is. I actually don't say much unless someone asks.

Its even funnier when they see my engine is "backwards"

Cheers for the kind words!

Does the head simply bolt on with the same timing belt tensioner as the old school 4g63?

This car is a work of art!

Cheers..

all the timing equipment is factory 6 bolt, belt/tensioner/idler bearings etc..

Was also wondering what was done to the head exactly.

Heads aren't that far different from each other, needs some welding and machining, other wise its straight bolt up (but custom work for everything else obviously

My DIY on how to do it: http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/diy-4g63dsm-4g63evo7-hybrid.438764/

What are those concave wheels on the car?

Thanks for that. So why an evo 7 head? Why not a 9?

We have plenty of evo 4-8 parts floating around Aust. Evo9 heads however are fairly hard to find, let alone cheap.

I have been looking for a while now, evo 4-8 heads are around $50-300 (pending condition), Evo9 MIVEC is around $1-2K (pending what is supplied with the head)

Its a hell of a difference on price just for MIVEC head

Also the Evo7 head was free :)

Fair enough LOL so what are the advantages besides better response? did you get on the dyno with the different heads yet?

Its been a while....

Updated with 3.5" intake pipe to prep for larger turbo, planning a twin charge set up shortly... pending on if I switch to electric power steering and size of supercharger available (cheaply obviously)...

damn, love this.
what was happening that you require a coolant swirl pot. or mostly ballin' factor?

Interested in the mamba turbo reliability, I've considered buying one in the past for my focus st and possibly for my eclipse in the future. It's hard to find really any firsthand experience from anyone really pushing one.

He already had one because his radiator is tucked and has no cap. He re did it because he is ocd about attention to detail and he's removing the silicon hoses as much as he can.

His fabrication level is off the scale. He creates things and makes them work because he is an artist with what he does

I have installed a fair few and haven't had any big issues with them. I will have to admit some of the machining and porting can be a bit average, but nothing that cant be easily fixed. A lot of the budget builds/drift cars down here use their turbo's or parts from them to rebuild/high flow other turbos.

basically what "chrysler kid" said, and also raised it cause the turbo is higher then last set up.
